Saying goodbye: Julie reflects on the death of her Old Dog Haven Final Refuge dog, Lois. Julie and her family were blessed with Lois for the last three years of her life. Her death came the day after Julie returned from a weekend with Temple Grandin at the Vashon Sheepdog Trials. Today, on Summer Solstice, Julie weaves together Lois’ death, her weekend with Temple, and celebrating diversity. We are ALL different. We are ALL human. We aren’t as different as we think we are, when it comes to topics of humanity – like grief. R.I.P. Lois. We miss you!
