11/27 Dogs in Weddings, and then: adopting a retired racing greyhound with Greyhound Pets of America

Jenny Harding with New Chapter Weddings and Events joins us to talk about how she has seen dogs participate in weddings over the years, and give listeners some tips about having a dog in your wedding ceremony.

New Chapter Weddings and Events produces the ONE LOVE Wedding Showcase – a wedding expo that is open to all couples and only represents vendors who are LGBT/LGBT allies.

Adopt a retired racing greyhound!  Katie Jones, a volunteer with the Northwest chapter of Greyhound Pets of America talks about living with and fostering retired racing greyhounds and how you can support this wonderful cause.

Julie met Katie Jones and her three greyhounds while visiting Sucadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA.  Julie was there celebrating her one year wedding anniversary, an event that was planned by her first guest today, Jenny Harding.  Great tie-in on today’s show!

Check out Suncadia Resort for a wonderful dog-friendly vacation destination and be sure to have dinner at their delicious Portal’s Restaurant!

On Monday, Dec 16th, from about 9am to noon, Julie Forbes, host of The Dog Show with Julie Forbes, and Brandie Ahlgren, editor of CityDog Magazine are having glass blown hearts made with their pets ashes!

Brandie and Julie were both inspired by their dogs, to start careers in the dog industry, and on the 16th of December, along with anyone who wants to join them, they will be celebrating and honoring the lives of two very special dogs:

Chewy, Julie’s first dog, was  a lab mix who passed away from canine cancer at the age of twelve, in 2009.

Scout, Brandie’s female boxer passed away this year.

Want to have a heart made with your pet, on the same day?
