2/22/12 – Taiwan Dogs/Formosan Mountain Dogs – A U.S. Family Dog?
Julie interviews two of her dog training clients about their experience with their “Taiwan Dog”. They speak about the unexpected hardship in adopting a feral dog and the challenges she presents to their life. The dogs are generally described as “sometimes shy of people outside of the pack”, rather than more acurately: “Sometimes deathly afraid of people outside of the pack”.
Is the best solution to the overpopulation and horrible abuse these dogs face in Taiwan, to bring them to the U.S. and adopt them to families, when we are already euthanizing approximately 4 million dogs/year in this country?
