Courthouse Dogs – Therapy dogs in courthouses to help comfort children put in the horrible position of testifying against adults who have harmed them or committed a crime that the child witnessed. The power these dogs have to help the children stay present to recall events is amazing. The children’s accounts are a crucial piece of evidence for prosecution and oftentimes children are too scared or traumatized to share with strange adults! Makes sense! …But they’ll tell a DOG what happened. Amazing.
